“Laws for thee, but not for me.”
Our politicians seem to think they are above the law. Nancy Pelosi gets an essential wash and a blow-out. Anthony Fauci sits mask-less at a ballgame. Reporters rip their masks off once they are off-camera. And doomsayer Neil Ferguson, who predicted the virus apocalypse, violates the lock down to be with his girlfriend.
Of all those examples, the most telling is Neil Ferguson, epidemiologist at Imperial College of London. His computer model predicted as many as 2 million deaths in the USA and half a million in the UK. The models, which were the basis of the worldwide lock down, were wildly inaccurate. It was like predicting that the worst hurricane in a century was about strike and, instead, a summer shower passed quickly through. Nevertheless, Ferguson broke the lock down with his girlfriend, though he had already tested positive for coronavirus. This would be recklessly endangering his girlfriend. She was married, so it would be endangering her husband, too, wouldn’t it?
Perhaps, there is another interpretation: Perhaps Ferguson, Fauci and Pelosi all know the virus scare and the lock down are designed to scare people so the government could usurp more powers, powers that the people would never allow them to take under normal circumstances.
Perhaps the greatest hypocrisy of all, though, is the media that, after telling you that you needed to “stay at home” to “stop the spread” then told you to get out and protest against the killing of George Floyd. CNN published an article about over 1,000 medical professionals who said the protests should not be shut down. If the killing of George Floyd had not been universally condemned there might have been a good argument for the protests. But it was universally condemned, as it should have been. So, why put people at risk of getting the virus at protests, then?

(Update: 11/14/2020) Nancy Pelosi’s nephew CA Governor Gavin Newsom has earned his place on the list of corona-hypocrits. He was enjoying a dinner at a restaurant in a way that violated the guidelines he himself imposed. After an initial denial he admitted that there was “an error in judgment.” See Lockdowns For Thee, But Not For Me” – Newsom, Pelosi Attend Dinner Parties While US COVID Cases Explode
